About Crafting on the Cape

Crafting on the Cape (formerly Crop on the Cape) is one of the largest papercrafting events in New England! Since 1999, we’ve grown into a fun-filled weekend that brings together scrapbookers, cardmakers, and mixed media artists. Our new name reflects the wide variety of crafters who join us each year. Learn more about the exciting changes coming in our next chapter here.
Some of our attendees have been with us for 15+ years, while others are just discovering us. Many come with a group of friends, and plenty come solo, often leaving the weekend with new crafty friends. However you arrive, we love welcoming everyone into our creative community!
Our next event runs Thursday, March 18, through Sunday, March 21, 2027, for a weekend packed with creative fun. We’ll be celebrating our 28th year!
Coming home to the Sea Crest
This year, we’re returning to the Sea Crest Beach Resort in North Falmouth, Massachusetts, where it all began in 1999! We’re so excited to have found a new home for our amazing community, and it feels extra special that it’s the place where our story started.
Set on Old Silver Beach, the Sea Crest offers 253 guest rooms and suites, many with ocean views and outdoor patios or balconies. Resort amenities include indoor and outdoor saltwater pools, an indoor hot tub, a fitness center, a game room, an ice cream shop, an oceanfront restaurant, a pool bar, a gift shop, and 700 feet of private white-sand beach.
Meet Your Host
Crafting on the Cape is hosted by Jenn Shurkus, owner of Creative Chick Co. In addition to this event, Jenn hosts the Creative Journey Art Retreat each fall on Cape Cod. Throughout the year, she shares creative inspiration on her website and teaches both online and in-person classes.
Meet the Team
Crafting on the Cape is hosted by Jenn Shurkus, owner of Creative Chick Co. In addition to this event, Jenn hosts the Creative Journey Art Retreat each fall on Cape Cod. Throughout the year, she shares creative inspiration on her website and teaches both online and in-person classes.
Behind the scenes, Josie Nevers works with Jenn year-round to bring the event to life. She helps organize the vendors, teachers, and sponsors; plans the seating chart (think of it as a wicked big wedding where nobody knows each other!); pulls and organizes pre-orders before the event; and makes sure there are plenty of prizes for all the fun to come.
During the event, our “Creative Crew” are on hand all weekend helping Jenn keep everything running smoothly:
- The Boys: 27, Brad, and Jenn’s partner, Chris, can usually be found at the registration desk and running the Creative Chick Co. shop.
- The Girls: Jenn and Lindsay run a pop-up shop for their product, Washershore, and organize and host the games.
It takes a village, and Jenn is so grateful for every one of them!
